Markus Wierenga
CEO
Markus set up Green Switch Capital (now Qair Renewables UK) in 2010 after moving to the UK from Spain where he was involved in the solar industry for many years. Previously Markus had been involved in the electronic recycling industry, founding a business which became the world’s third largest company in its industry. In 2000, the company was sold to a US based venture capital company. Today, Markus seeks to build on Qair’s worldwide reputation and is responsible for dealing with all external matters, building partnerships and broader business relationships.
Marco Campolucci-Bordi
CCO
Marco co-founded Green Switch Capital (now Qair Renewables UK) in 2010 after moving back to the UK from Spain. Marco is responsible for building partnerships with clients and broader business relationships across multiple technologies. He also leads the Acquisitions and Marketing team, who have built a 20 GW+ pipeline of potential renewable energy projects across the country.
Liam Kelly
COO
Liam is the Chief Operating Officer of Qair Renewables UK and was one of the founding members of Green Switch Capital. Liam has been developing large-scale renewable energy projects internationally for over 15 years and has worked across the wider construction and logistics industries before this.

Originally a geotechnical engineer, Chris gained an increasing amount of project management experience while managing developments of increasing scales as his career progressed. Working as a Contractor, Consultant and now as a Developer, with experience both nationally and internationally, Chris has gained a broad perspective of business in general and specifically contractual issues surrounding the construction industry, over a 30+ year career.
Tom Milburn

Tom joined Qair as a developer. As a chartered engineer, he has over ten years of experience working on engineering projects, both in the UK and internationally. His experience encompasses everything from the development of scoping studies to design and site supervision.

Tom joined Qair as a project developer. Having started his career in the IT world, development, and subsequently project management, Tom left the city for the good life and ran his own retail business for 15 years. A keen interest in all things green, and a desire to contribute in the effort to hit net zero, inspired his change in direction.
Sam Burgess

Sam joined Qair after 15 years of running his own catering businesses. In 2019, he started a degree in Environmental Management with the intention of gaining employment with a company that wants to create a greener and more sustainable future.
Huw Townsley

Huw joined Qair as a project developer, having previously worked in a planning and environmental consultancy, gaining recent consent for Solar schemes within the UK. He has a background in Landscape Architecture & Planning and is looking forward to this next phase in his career delivering further renewable energy projects, assisting with long-term energy security, and contributing to the UK’s net carbon zero goals.
Connor Murphy

Connor is a Development Manager with nearly 10 years of experience in the residential property sector. His career as surveyor brings a strong technical foundation and detailed understanding of residential assets to his current role. Connor now focuses on managing development projects from inception through delivery, ensuring schemes are well-planned, commercially viable, and executed to a high standard. His combined expertise in surveying and development allows him to provide clear, practical insight and drive projects that deliver value.

Sally manages social media, website content, branding, PR, and other marketing initiatives. With over 10 years of experience in customer service and a degree from Liverpool John Moores University, she combines strong communication skills with a creative approach to building brand awareness. Lamin Saidy Vulart
Head of Grid and Engineering
Lamin is the Head of Grid & Engineering at Qair UK. He is an Electrical and Electronic Engineer has gained experience in project management roles in countries such as Gambia, Malta, Spain, Romania, and the UK. In his role at Qair, Lamin manages various aspects of our solar, wind, and battery projects including all grid related matters.

Marjan joined Qair as a Grid engineer. She has over five years’ experience as an Architect Engineer working on engineering projects in Iran and holds in an MSc in Architecture.
Thomas O'Neill
Junior Grid Connection Manager
Thomas is one of our Grid Engineers at Qair. He graduated from Liverpool John Moore’s University with a first-class master's degree in mechanical engineering, focussing on renewable energy and developing wind sites.

Isobel is a Grid Connections Coordinator at Qair, where she plays a key role in facilitating the successful integration of renewable energy projects into the grid. Isobel has developed a strong understanding of grid infrastructure and regulatory requirements, ensuring that projects are connected smoothly and efficiently.

Ellen joined the business as Finance Controller, having held FC roles previously, and is now Head of Finance at Qair UK. Ellen is a fellow of the Association Chartered Certified Accountants.

Luke joined Qair as a Finance Assistant after graduating from Lancaster University. He's currently a Part Qualified Accountant with the aim of becoming Chartered.

Manuel Balseiro

Manuel is the Head of Delivery and Finance, bringing over 15 years of experience in the renewables sector. He has held leadership roles across managerial, investment, financial, and technical functions at major IPPs across Europe. A mechanical engineer by background, he also holds an MBA from IESE Business School.

Vivek is an accomplished renewable energy professional with a proven track record in developing onshore wind, solar, and BESS projects. His expertise spans technical, regulatory, and financial aspects, having managed cross-technology portfolios from inception to completion. He currently leads financial structuring and management of our portfolio, aligning projects with our strategic goals.
Emma Bradley
Construction Manager
Emma has joined the Qair team as the Construction Manager, responsible for the Construction / Build Out Phase of the renewable project's portfolio. Emma started her career as a Marine Engineer with BP on the oil tankers and gas carriers, with a year on the cruise ships. Over the years her broad and multi-faceted engineering background, has led to her exploring many other sectors, such as Oil and Gas, Chemical Defence and Cryogenics, with the last seven years being in the Renewable Sector. Emma has gained a lot of experience and knowledge in the construction of BESS and Solar projects, as well as Combined Heat and Power (CHP) and the Power Generation projects.

Timi joined the energy sector driven by a strong passion for the efficient integration of renewable energy vectors. With a solid foundation in Electrical and Electronic engineering, she has worked across areas in renewable energy development, electricity networks and asset management. Her diverse experience reflects a commitment to advancing sustainable and affordable energy systems through innovation and efficiency.

David has experience in a broad range of legal matters, including commercial contracts, procurement, research and development agreements, corporate governance, M&A, regulatory and compliance matters, data protection and employment, and contractor contracts. He advises on development, EPC, planning and environmental, and grid connections and has experience with various major infrastructure projects in the renewable energy field.
