Qair Reaches Financial Close on Brecks Solar Farm

Qair has successfully reached financial close on the 46.51 MWp Brecks Solar Farm in Nottinghamshire, marking a major milestone for both the project and the company’s growing UK renewable energy portfolio.

The achievement represents Qair UK’s first project to reach financial close and enables construction to commence, with the project expected to become operational in Q2 2027.

Located in Retford, Brecks Solar Farm will play an important role in supporting the UK’s clean energy transition, generating enough renewable electricity to power more than 15,000 homes annually while contributing to national net zero ambitions and strengthening domestic energy security.

The project was awarded a Contract for Difference (CfD) in Allocation Round 7, providing long-term revenue certainty and supporting the deployment of competitive, large-scale renewable energy generation across the UK.
Senior debt financing for the project has been secured from BayernLB, demonstrating strong confidence in both the project and Qair UK’s long-term strategy in the British renewable energy market.

As one of the first projects in Qair UK’s portfolio to move into construction, Brecks Solar Farm represents an important step forward in the company’s ambition to establish a significant operational renewable energy portfolio across the country. Alongside Brecks, Qair UK continues to progress a growing pipeline of solar, wind and battery storage projects that will contribute to a cleaner, more secure and more resilient energy system.

Manuel Balseiro, Head of Delivery and Finance at Qair UK, said:
“Reaching financial close on Brecks Solar Farm is a landmark moment for Qair UK and a significant achievement for everyone involved in bringing the project to this stage.
As our first project to reach the construction stage, Brecks establishes a strong foundation for our expanding UK development pipeline and marks the first milestone in our long-term commitment to delivering renewable energy infrastructure that supports the UK’s transition to a cleaner, more secure energy system.
We are proud to now move the project into construction and look forward to seeing Brecks become operational.”

Qair would like to thank BayernLB and all project partners involved in reaching this important milestone and looks forward to progressing construction over the coming months.
