Qair Secures CfDs for Four Solar Projects Totalling 190 MW

Qair has secured Contracts for Difference (CfDs) for four solar projects across England, representing a combined capacity of around 190 MW, including one project held in partnership.

The awards mark an important step in Qair UK’s growth, as the company moves into its delivery phase and progresses towards becoming an Independent Power Producer (IPP) in the UK from 2027.

Moving from development to delivery

The UK government’s CfD scheme provides long-term revenue stability for renewable energy projects, enabling investment in construction and long-term operation.

Work on the first sites is scheduled to begin in spring 2026, with initial commissioning targeted from early 2027. These milestones represent Qair UK’s transition from development into active delivery in the UK market.

“These CfD awards provide the revenue certainty needed to move ahead with construction and deliver these projects at pace. With work set to begin in the coming months, we are now focused on bringing new renewable capacity online efficiently and responsibly, helping to supply reliable clean electricity to UK consumers.”

Supporting the UK’s clean energy transition

Once operational, the projects will deliver domestically generated renewable electricity, strengthening energy security and contributing to the UK’s net-zero ambitions.

The awards also reflect the progress made since Qair’s acquisition of Green Switch Capital in 2024, reinforcing the company’s long-term commitment to investing in UK energy infrastructure and developing projects at scale.

With a UK development pipeline of more than 5 GW across solar, battery storage and wind, Qair UK continues to expand its operational footprint and support the transition to a low-carbon energy system.
